The Sacraments at St. Martin’s

At St. Martin’s, we celebrate the sacraments as signs of God’s grace and love shared in community. Through these sacred moments, we experience God’s presence in our lives — from baptism to marriage, from healing to the hope of resurrection.

Baptism

In baptism, we are welcomed into the family of God and marked as Christ’s own forever. St. Martin’s celebrates baptisms on select Sundays throughout the year. If you or your child would like to be baptized, reach out to the priest to learn more about preparation and upcoming dates. Everyone is welcome at the font.

Marriage

Christian marriage is a joyful sacrament that celebrates God’s presence in the love between two people. At least one person in the couple must be baptized, and premarital conversations with the priest are part of the preparation. Weddings at St. Martin’s are scheduled in consultation with the priest and should be planned well in advance.

Confirmation / Reception

Confirmation and Reception are ways for adults to make a public affirmation of faith and deepen their connection to the Episcopal Church. Preparation usually includes conversation or a short class with the priest, and the Bishop joins us for this celebration during parish visitations.

Burial / Funeral

The Burial Office of the Episcopal Church is a service of hope and resurrection, giving thanks for a life and entrusting our loved one to God’s eternal care. Funerals and memorial services at St. Martin’s are planned with the priest and music director. Families are encouraged to reach out as soon as possible, and preplanning is always welcome.

Healing Prayers / Last Rites

The Church offers prayers and anointing for healing to anyone in need of comfort, strength, or peace. If you or someone you love is sick, hospitalized, or nearing death, please contact the priest. Pastoral visits, home communion, and last rites are available at any time.
